Associate Director of the Chicago Instructional Technology Foundation
Up to $27,000, based upon experience, salaried at 30 hours a week
Position Description:
The Chicago Instructional Technology Foundation and its project Chicago Classroom TV are searching for an enthusiastic, detail-oriented
person to fill the position of Associate Director (AD). This small, educational non-profit corporation, partners with teachers, librarians, media specialists, administrators and communities to provide educational TV programming at no cost to the partnering organizations. The AD is responsible for creating, distributing and managing monthly TV schedules for CCTV, light bookkeeping, technical support, assisting the Director in project implementation and strategic planning.
Position Requirements:
A successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree and will have some professional experience in the field of education, office settings and media technologies. A successful candidate will be proficient with Microsoft Office Programs and will be detail orientated.
The Associate Director reports to the CITF Director.
Programming
The Associate Director will direct monthly teacher mailings
" Create monthly CCTV schedules, memos, promotions and highlight new programs
" Organize Mailings: locate and collect resources, mail schedules to CITF site contacts
" Act as liaison between CCTV and direct mailing firm to ensure our teacher mailing reaches all schools
" Provide updates/oversight of the web site with schedules and highlights
" Maintain the program inventory database and program DVDs at the AON Center
" Maintain up-to-date inventory using Excel
" Research and review new programming as needed
School Liaison, Teacher Training, and Partnerships
The Associate Director will contact each school site in pursuit of increasing the utilization of CITF's service
" Visit each school site twice a year, call each school quarterly
" Phone each school quarterly
" Maintain database concerning school contact in ACT
" Assist in school preparedness to utilize CCTV
" Develop special projects on a case-by-case basis
" Assist in conducting bi-annual contact surveys
" Assist with utilization survey
" Assist with recruitment/de-installation and service of school sites
" Assist with teacher in-services, Professional Development classes, advisory meetings
" Maintain up-to-date mailing database in ACT and Excel
" Attend Advisory Council Meetings
CITF Business
The Associate Director will assist in the running of CITF's EBS system
" Support work on Board directed Priorities including but not limited to the following:
" Production Grant
" Transmission Site Maintenance
" Broadcast Quality Control
" Film Festival
" CAN-TV relations
" Professional Development
" Utilization Survey
" Assist with Financial reports, invoicing and oversight
" Manage office supplies, correspondence and upkeep
" Attend CITF Board of Director Meetings
Other position details:
¢ Schedule set by Director
¢ The Associate Director position is part-time, 30 hours a week. CITF acknowledges that there may be times when exempt staff is required to work well in excess of their normally scheduled time for the week, or when work travel requires the employee to lose their regularly scheduled days off (i.e. weekends or holidays).
¢ Out-of-pocket expenses reimbursed monthly (documentation must be submitted)
¢ Personal car use reimbursed at $0.365 per mile
¢ 5 vacation days, 5 holidays, 5 sick days Any vacation days not taken during the fiscal year will roll-over into the next year, and unused paid vacation may be accumulated for a total of not more than 20 working days, and will be forfeited if accumulated beyond that limit.
¢ Compensatory time is available and should be arranged with the CITF Director within two weeks of the excess time worked. The compensatory time policy is designed to be flexible, and available for the health and well-being of the employee and, therefore, should be taken promptly. The Director is authorized to make an exception to this policy, when necessary.
¢ Salary: up to $27,000 based on experience. Wage or salary increases will be considered annually, generally prior to the commencement of the employee's fiscal year. Consideration of salary increases will be based upon: the financial capability of the employer, changes in the local cost of living, and employee merit. Merit-based salary increases are intended to reward employee efforts, which exceed standard performance expectations.
